When we bred Alvesta Caris to Winona Myer's Cat Creek Innuendo in Kansas, it was with the hope that she might produce a filly for our program, as it's difficult to keep on homebred colts when our small broodmare band is mostly related. But from the start, we felt Infinity was special, and we sure like his sire's bloodlines, so we kept him on to show and sire a couple of foals before he moved on.
While he happily spent his winters with two other young stallions, in 2019 his first mares joined his spring/summer paddock. They settled right in, and Infinity was so good with his mares and their foals. What an exceptional temperament this young stallion has.
It's been the same at the shows: we've shown Infinity since he was a yearling, and he is so sensible. As a yearling, judge Elizabeth Russell of the Gartconnel Stud awarded him Youngstock Champion and Res. Supreme Champion Welsh and said, "This lovely colt was very correct. As well as having Welsh Mountain Pony characteristics, his kindness was evident. He also was shortly coupled, had a lovely length of rein and head/shoulder set, moved straight, and covered the ground. He lifted at the trot, and his behaviour for a yearling was impeccable in that he showed himself to his best.”
The next year, as a two-year-old, judge Heather Black said, “he has a lovely head, is well balanced, and has free-flowing movement,” awarding him Youngstock Futurity Supreme Welsh and Futurity Grand Champion Sport Pony. He and his stallion pals have had ground work and their first backings, and Infinity eagerly accepted the new challenges, enjoying the attention.
Infinity is now owned by Susan Koos-Acker, Twisted Oak Welsh, Wisconsin, siring beautiful babies!
